Ob "After Hours" tatsächlich das Antiserum zu Covid-19 ist, wird sich am Freitag herausstellen, aber dass Musik heilende Kräfte besitzt, ist bereits bewiesen. Und für The Weeknds fast schon kult-artige Fanbase ist das mit Spannung erwartete neue Album ganz bestimmt die Heilung - vielleicht nicht für Corona, aber dafür für die nach Neuheiten vom kanadischen Herzensbrecher lechzende Seele.
Es gibt DSDS-Juroren, für die es gerade durchaus schlechter läuft als für Pietro Lombardi. Während Xavier Naidoo aus bekannten Gründen weg vom Fenster ist und kommenden Samstag ersetzt wird (der Wendler ist es nicht), darf Lombardi weiterhin neben Bohlenski in der Jury Platz nehmen. Abgesehen davon hat er in den letzten Monaten hart daran gefeilt, Hits zu veröffentlichen, die verdächtig nach "Despacito" klingen, und die findet man nun alle auf dem Album "Lombardi".

Geht man zu weit, wenn man Morrissey als den britischen Xavier Naidoo bezeichnet? Ähnlich wie der Sohn Mannheims kokettiert der Sohn Manchesters regelmäßig mit skandalösen Aussagen, die auch mal sehr nahe an rechtes Gedankengut kommen. Der ehemalige Frontmann der Smiths war aber früher nun mal der Frontmann der Smiths und hat daher wohl noch deutlich mehr Pulver zu verschießen und steht vor einem tieferen Fall als der ehemalige Frontmann von den Söhnen Mannheims.
Noch vor kurzem lief ein Dokumentationsfilm über die Metalcore/Deathmetal-Band Heaven Shall Burn aus Thüringen in den deutschen Kinos. Darin zeigten sie sich von einer unerwarteten Seite: "Bei uns auf Tour, das ist glaub ich viel weniger Rock'n'Roll als man sich das vorstellt", hieß es im Trailer. Nun liegt mit "Of Truth And Sacrifice" ein neues Album in den Startlöchern, bei dem wieder eine ganze Prise Rock'n'Roll zu erwarten ist.
Baxter Dury, Sohn des Ian, veröffentlicht mit "The Night Chancers" abermals ein großes Album. Als "Slumlord" führt er uns in zehn Tracks durch die Nacht, vollzieht dabei grazile Beat-Verrenkungen und klingt wie eine Mischung aus Serge Gainsbourg und ner Sleaford Mods-Maxi auf 33 RPM. Dazu noch mehr Streicher und Trip-Hop-Beats als zuletzt auf "Prince Of Tears".
